The Wii Balance Board is a pressure-sensitive board designed to provide weight and balance sensitivity to games. It is packed in and most prominently featured in Wii Fit.

Summary[]

The Wii Balance Board is a pressure-sensitive board bundled with Wii Fit and created from the ground up to work with it. It was an innovative peripheral for the Wii's time, similar to the Wii Remote but with body position. The "Balance" part of the name comes from the board being able to track where a user puts their weight as they stand. This accessory is regarded as a portable and low-cost posturography system by the American National Library of Medicine[1] and in 2008, Ohioan hospitals used it for rehabilitation.[2]
