Donkey Kong near two Treasure Chests in Stormy Shore of Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Treasure Chests are items in Donkey Kong Country Returns, Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Paper Mario, Wario Land: Shake It!, and Kirby's Epic Yarn. They are treasure chests that contain items for the player to collect. Most treasure chest require an attack or something must be thrown at them to open them. In Donkey Kong Country Returns, they are large chests that contain items. They appear in quite many levels. They require a Hand Slap (Ground Pound) to open them. In Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, Treasure Chests are slightly rare sights. They contain valuable items such as Star Chips, Sling Stars, Coins, Star Bits, Launch Stars, 1-Up Mushrooms and Bubbles. In some Treasure Chests, Toad is inside the Treasure Chest. Many Treasure Chests can be found underwater. To open any Treasure Chest, a Green Shell or Red Shell must be thrown at them. In the Bigmouth Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy, a Golden Treasure Chest is found at the end of its mission. A Gold Shell must be thrown at it to open the chest. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Treasure Chests are also quite rare. The only places they can be found is either after all Toad Balloons are collected in an Enemy Course or in the yellow Mushroom House. Unlike the other games, all the player must do it touch the Treasure Chest to open it. In the yellow Mushroom House, a Starman is inside the Treasure Chest. In Enemy Courses, Toad is inside the Treasure Chest. In Super Paper Mario, they are found containing Pixls, Badges, or Keys. In Wario Land: Shake It!, Wario can perform a dash attack to open them. However, in Boogie Mansion, Treasure Chests are living creatures who eat Wario if he gets too close to them. To get what's inside these "living" chests, Wario must throw an explosive at them. Last but not least, in Kirby's Epic Yarn, Treasure Chests appear in the form of yarn Patches. Kirby must use his yarn whip to unwrap them. When unwrapped, he will find a hidden piece of Furniture
