The Super Guide Block is an item in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It is a green block with a yellow exclamation. If you died on a level too many times, and had to use a continue on that same level, the Super Guide Block will appear. When you start the level, at the starting point is a Super Guide Block. It is possible for a Super Guide Block to appear at a Midway Point. Not all Super Guide Blocks appear after a continue. Some appear after 8 dies on one level. When you restart the level you'll see the Super Guide Block. You will be distracted by a doorbell ring. It comes from the block. Just like how you hit a Brick, or Question Block, you must hit a Super Guide Block. That means you must jump under it and hit it. A pop up will appear asking you if you want to call in Luigi, to show you how to play through the level. If you say yes, Luigi will begin at the beginning of the level, even if you found the Super Guide Block at a Midway Point. A computer controlled Luigi will play through the course. He does not die in levels. In fact, he doesn't even take damage. If you watch the movie to the end, a pop up will appear asking you if you want to retry the course or not. However, if you paused the game while Luigi was in action, you are unable to quit the action. You can either continue the movie, or control Luigi to the end. Collected Coins that you playing as Luigi, or the computer controlled Luigi collect, are not saved. That is the bad news. The good news is, if you die as Luigi, you do not lose a life. This is the only time you can play as Luigi in single player mode.
