Magic Yarns are items in Kirby's Epic Yarn. They are long, glowing, milk-white pieces of string that are used to keep Patch Land, Prince Fluff's world, together. Without the Magic Yarn, Patch Land would be separated and be nothing be several floating pieces of land. There are eight pieces of Magic Yarn. Yin-Yarn, the main antagonist in the game, stole these eight pieces of yarn and gave seven of them to the guardians (bosses) he had created or brainwashed. Yin-Yarn placed a guardian (boss) in each world. After each guardian (boss) is defeated, the Magic Yarn is rewarded to the player, and stitches two pieces of Patch Land together. After the seven pieces of Magic Yarn are collected, Kirby and Prince Fluff can now access Kirby's home, Dream Land, is now made of yarn. Here, the final battle with Yin-Yarn takes place. After Yin-Yarn is defeated, he uses the last piece of Magic Yarn to transform into Mega Yin-Yarn, a form that resembles Kirby's/Prince Fluff's Tankbot form. Speaking of Tankbot, Meta Knight flies into the course at this moment and drops the Tankbot Metamortex for the heroes to use to defeat Mega Yin-Yarn. After Mega Yin-Yarn is defeated, Yin-Yarn is defeated for good. The final piece of Magic Yarn is rewarded to the player, which stiches Patch Land and Dream Land back together.
- Strangely, the creature that Kirby and Prince Fluff got their first Magic Yarn from is never seen again in the game afterwards and only appears in that one cutscene it is found in.
